Gundam SEED Episode 3 – Collapsing Land

Intro

So when are they going to explain Coordinators?  In addition to the intro, I really like the ending song as well (especially when they blend it into a dramatic ending scene (like sleeping on the Archangel or washing the G-machine).

Start

“How did they ever manage using this OS?” says a ZAFT pilot.  Ok, ok…quit showing off, Coordinator!

Introductions are in order:

“Ensign Natarle Badgiruel, I’m Lieutenant Murrue Ramius.”  (Spoiler: “Hey backstabbing bitch!”)

“Lieutenant Murrue Ramius, I’m Lieutenant Mu La Flaga of the 7th Orbital Fleet.”  (Spoiler: “Hey baby!”)

“Lieutenant Mu La Flaga, I’m Lieutenant Murrue Ramius of Sector 2, 5th Special Division.”  (Spoiler: “Right back at ya!”)

“Everyone, I’m Kira Yamato, elementary school student, Heliopolis Elementary School.  Oh, and I was piloting your X105 Strike.  It’s a cool toy.  Can I have one?”

We learn that KY is a First-Generation Coordinator, which means that his parents are Naturals, whatever that means.  (The genetic hocus pocus hasn’t been explained yet.)

Does anyone know what the D in D-equipment stands for?  Miguel is pissed off, wants revenge for his humiliation at the hands of KY, and he has D-equipment on his GINN.  Should we be scared?

Dude, Athrun Zala is going rogue.  So much for the choir boy image.  Imagine…a battle pitting one Earth mobile suit against the other…and more flashbacks!

Promotion #1: Lieutenant Ramius is the new Captain!  A nice day’s work, Murrue.

Crap, the battle’s just started, and they’re severely trashing the Heliopolis colony.

Cagalli is in the escape shuttle.  When will we see her next?  I’m going to guess Earth.

RIP Miguel.  We hardly knew ye!  ”Miguel!!!” says Athrun.

The big confrontation (with more introductions among the old friends)…

“Kira.  Kira Yamato!” says Athrun.

“Athrun?  Athrun Zala!” says Kira.

The destroyed GINN fires the weapons (D-equipment???), the colony starts to break apart, it gets a bit windy in there, and cue the closing song!
